They include (1) Increased heartbeat or palpitation; (2) Chest pain: (3) Hyperventilation or shortness of breath (4) Stomach churning, upset stomach; (5) Trembling and shaking; (6) Muscle tension; (7) Sweating; (8) Dizziness and light-headedness; (9) Hot or cold flashes; (10) Tingling sensation or numbness. Any 4 of these symptoms in combination is a enough to meet the clinical defintion of a panic attack. Identifying and monitoring each specific symptom is one of the first steps in panic disorder treatments.
